CREATIVE, INNOVATOR, FILM ACTOR, DIRECTOR, FILMMAKER, ARTIST, AND MORE...

With years and years of being in front of a camera and in front of an audience under his belt, it is no wonder to us why Jay Beckett is now recognized as one award-winning indie film director from LA.

“I have always had an interest in the hard work that goes into the behind-the-scenes of the film industry.” Jay mentioned in his interview with ShoutOut LA for winning three categories in the recent prestigious 2022 Telly Awards with his film, Say Grace.

His love for the performing arts at a young age sparked a fire in him that made him pursue a course in Cinematography and Film/Video Production from Los Angeles Film School in 2020. Hailing from Lima, Peru, Jay attended catholic schools, which highly influencing his writing and films.

This is evident in his new award-winning film focusing on Mark, a devout Christian

father whose values are deeply challenged when he accidentally finds a

doll inside his son’s backpack.

“I realized that there are not a lot of resources for people

 that are starting out…”

In 2021, Jay Beckett started Second Act Productions

to help passionate and artistic filmmakers who are starting out

but do not have access to the resources they need to put their

films out there.

A talented actor, an artistic film director, and a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, Jay Beckett aims to use his platform and influence to pursue roles that bring light to the third gender and different ethnic groups.
